| Today:
Went to county fair.
I see a booth selling anime stuff. I walk over there.
I notice every item relates to Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Lucky Star, Haruhi Suzumiya, and, if you consider it anime, Hatsune Miku and nothing more.
I silently weep.
But its pretty cool considering that my county fair even had an anime booth to begin with.

| The absence of Full Metal Alchemist is appalling. It's one of the only mainstream anime that's actually worth the praise it gets | |

| ~100 episodes into One Piece and I can't say it's bad. I definitely think the overall anime (so far) is better than both Naruto and Bleach).
I think Naruto gets really good/interesting at times, but those times are rare. All the fillers and bad arcs in between the good ones really break the anime. It's pretty good right now, but the last 3-4 episodes have been 80% flashbacks, 15% talking, and 5% actual battling.
I also didn't like FMA as much as other people did, but I still liked it. Haven't seen Brotherhood yet though, so maybe that'll change.

I never said they were. /smug But Naruto just got boring, too much filler, bad story arcs, sane reason why I don't watch Bleach. I can never really watch any show that goes over 100 eps unless its REALLY good.

| Can touhou be considered an anime since it started with a series of games? | |

| It does have an anime adaptation (with professional VAs) that was dropped because ZUN didn't like it. | |

| I honestly have no idea what touhou is. What systems are the games for? Genre? Did it have a US release? I've seen your touhou music thread on the TDM forums but I haven't had time to check the songs out yet since I'm usually on teamspeak or listening to my own music when browsing forums | |

| Touhou, simply put, is a series of vertical shooters (STG) games featuring an all-female cast, all coded by a single person named ZUN. You can look at detailed info @ touhouwiki.net, if you're interested. Its fanbase is the most notable part of this game, having a lot of fanmade pictures and doujin music being produced every day, probably due to the art design by ZUN (which is an acquired taste) that most fans aren't too satisfied with, Oh yeah, the music (BGMs and their arranges) are fantastic. | |

| The artwork took some getting used to and I'm terrible at the games but they're still fun to play...I have EoSD, PCB, IN, and PoFV. Which are your favorite BGM from these games? | |

| No, Echo, no Touhou game has been formally released in the US. Doujin games are essentially hardcore indie productions like we occasionally have stateside, though none to my knowledge have the same kind of following as Touhou. It's a uniquely Nihongo fascination, AFAIC.
As for the trip-A series like One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach, I've just not had much interest in them as shows to watch. I'm not one for uber-mainstream. Besides, the OP manga is SO much better than the anime; I read up to something like ~550 before One Manga closed.

Yuyuko's theme (Bloom Nobly, Cherry Blossoms of Sumizome ~ Border of Life & Border of Life) will always be my favorite, all Touhou albums I download now must have 1 arrange of it. Second and third are hard to pick since they're all so good. Sakuya's theme from PoFV (Flowering Night) and Youmu's stage theme (Ancient Temple) are my current runner-ups.

| I find I really like the Prismriver's stage theme from PCB (Capital City of Flowers in the Sky). Not sure about the others but when I first played through EoSD I went through stage 4 for the first time not knowing it'd take so long and then to face Patchouli and her theme (Locked Girl ~ The Girl's Secret Room) I personally felt like the theme fit the fight because I started to panic, though I did take a liking to it. -__- I find I like a lot of the songs from PCB a lot, though I still have yet to play through the newer games. | |
