Diablo 3 Press Event

Some things to note:

No offline play
No mods
Real money used in the auction houses along with auction houses using purely in-game currency

tl;dr version wrote:

- D1 Warrior (the Dark Wanderer) was retconned, he is now King Leoric's eldest son.
- Fire reigns from the sky, dead arise from graves, bring heroes to Tristram.
- Book of Cain fills the 20-year gap between LoD and D3.
- Leah is Adria's daughter and Cain's adopted niece.
- 6 active skills instead of 7. Traits revamped into "passive skills," only 3 active at a time.
- Cauldron of Jordan: Allows you to sell items from battle.
- Nephalem Cube: Salvages items.
- Stone of Recall: D3's version of a hearthstone.
- Stash is huge! Larger than LoD's and has 5 pages, that you can purchase for gold.
- DH has 2 separate resources, Hatred and Discipline, both regenerate at a certain rate.
- Beta will only be a portion of Act 1 and will be relatively small.
- Real money auction house as well as a gold auction house and direct trading.
- Banner system to represent each person individually.

FUCKING BLIZZARD.

First StarCraft II (which I'm still in veto/denial)
Now this...

No Offline play -> No LAN
We can't even play SCII LAN now since there's no fucking way one houses' internet can support 4-8 connections to Battle.net.

No Mods -> No additional content and fun
PvP in mods were fun. So were some of the campaigns. And the gayness of the one friend getting the glitched item and killing all of us 1v5...

Real Money -> OP items for money

Story sounds nice. At least Blizzard has maintained story. Though I doubt it will be as good as SC/Diablo I/II/WarCraft II/III.

Besides the above rants I think I'll get this. Might actually get StarCraft II as well. And another copy of StarCraft: Brood War for the heck of it.

I don't understand what the rage about the real money auction is really about

What Blizzard/Activision is doing:

Taking something illegal (selling rare D2 items gold etc on 3rd party places like D2Mart), makes it legal, protects the consumers, and then taxes it.

They aren't offering any items in the real auction house themselves. People put up items for real money and they can be bought with real money. The regular gold auction house will still be there

The no mods thing is disappointing, but unfortunately understandable

Also no offline play is going to be 100% every game save indie games in the next few years because of faggots who pirate games. If you pirate video games, you have no right to complain about it.

Meh no offline sucks but can't wait to play!

i cant wait for this game but i find the real money part is kinda crazy when means player who r new to the game or players who do not spend their "real money" r most likely gonna get owned, even by the noobs who only hav an advantage because the spent alot of cash on OP items in the game SMH!!!
