I know! It's been like, what, 2 years or something? Okay maybe like 1 and a half but who really knows.

But not much is up with me. I'm making my way through college, attempting to find more free time to play with people here again, and generally trying to have a good time.

Kinda trying to get out of the routine is all. I've been playing CA till I scrape up some cash for some newer gen games,
but its actually been pretty nice. However, I find I can't aim...(without lag )

I've just been working pretty much, just now finding some free time to start playing again and got a new rig FINALLY.
I'll post specs a bit later when I dig up the stuff I can't recall.

Other than that, the only big change is that I quit smoking cigs. I use a Vape to take care of the nicotine but its been several weeks since I even thought of having one. Works for me haha.

I know I can't believe it myself. I actually just showed up here again like last month (and still haven't been that active but it's due to me waiting on the video card for my new rig... semantics). It was a lot of fun playing with people again. You should pop in sometime in the next week or so.

Eh, personal choice on the whole college deal. One can do fine without it. Perseverance can be difficult to maintain without peers though. That's all I truly feel that I'm paying for.

My CA account is actually MIA... Aha. It's unfortunate but that's what it is. I opened a ticket but who knows how many weeks it may take for them to even say anything to me. I do recall trying it about 6 months ago though and holy god did it lag. Whoever they hired for fixing bugs is completely wrecking resource management or just plain coding bad. And their website is atrocious, half the links don't even work. That aside, I'm going to end my mini rant here.

NEW RIGS YEA. I'm so excited with mine even though I'm waiting on the vid card like I mentioned. I went with an AMD build myself due to money being tight for me. Oh well. It isn't bad but I would have liked the longevity and stability that Intel usually has in it's products. Not that AMD is bad seeing as how the newer gen games that port to PC as well will originally be designed with AMD graphics in mind. (Yay!)

That's awesome though! One of my friends switch over to an e-Cig and I don't mind being around him as much. Not that he's a bad guy or anything but I just really hated smelling like cigarettes sometimes. I think they're a pretty sweet alternative. Good for you man!

True, I'm critical enough to push myself harder than anyone else would though so I guess I'll be ok for now, I wish there was a self learning alternative to colleges.

That is very lame. Yeah their website is jacked up, I just use the desktop launcher and its not too bad. Try it on the new rig. Theres still lag and memory mismanagement... it is CA after all, but it has lessened a bit.

I'm planning on getting a good cooling system cause it has gotten pretty hot already, but other than that , I've yet to find something that really pushes it, even with the relative lack of RAM.

Yeah, they're much much better. I can breath so much easier, and I'm actually starting to regain my sense of smell. I smoked for 10+ years and once I got an ecig I pretty much cut off in about two weeks.

There's plenty of alternatives but they're just not the same as college I feel. I know there are a lot of sites out there that test you on coding that employers like to see but it's hard to really prove anything to anyone without a degree I feel sometimes. Even then it still remains a "It's all about who you know," kind of game. Agh I don't even want to continue because this will become a rant very quickly.

Nice rig man. I actually went with the same mobo you did. I took a step down on the cpu and only got a six core. But I got an R9 270 for the video card instead of a 77xx series. Maybe overkill but I like it. Other than that our builds were similar aside from brands and whatnot. Mine was a bit more due to me needing a monitor too. /depression

I wouldn't say you really have a lack of RAM... That should suffice for quite a while yet. I wouldn't bother getting another stick or two until there's a major sale or price cut.

Wow, good for you man. I remember my grandparents trying to quit some years ago and they had a pretty hard time because there just weren't so many options with how to deal with it. They've got some awesome shit these days. xD

Yeah that damn piece of paper is the biggest issue. I wish you could just take the exams and get a degree from that. If you can pass the exam you should be able to get a degree lol, but it is what it is I guess. Maybe I'll found something like that in the future.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with it. The main reason I went with 8core other than the fact that I got a price cut is that I've gotten into computer science(very little know-how at this point, started in python, moved to C++, realized my mistake...), and I want to see what 8 cores can do, as unnecessary as it may be. There are no commercial programs (that I'm aware of) that use that many threads/processes, but I want to test it out so I'm SOL till I get better with code.

My monitor was a cheap used one, but it came from a graphic design firm, so its all color corrected and has better specs than any 60$ I'd spend anywhere else its just not all that big, had I bought a new monitor/keyboard/mouse setup we'd be about the same price really, I just bought the tower so I guess it seems a little better of a deal. 800 still isn't bad. A buddy of mine has well over 4k into his machine, but I think it was purpose built for bitcoin mining. He was NOT happy when they released the purpose built machines for less than 1k xD

As far as ram, I really only want it for when I get into my photoshop/illustrator/coreldraw/FLStudio/Cubase/whathaveyou moods, cause they usually end up opened together, although my new setup may be more than enough, have yet to see. My old rig is still crying from that.

Thank you very much! lol yeah its rough without a crutch, I'm pretty stubborn myself and I couldn't manage it without help. I stilll haven't actually quit, but I've cut out cigarettes. You can control your nicotine levels and I'm about half way through lowering it with the eliquid. Yeah, no kidding man, I'm surprised that they can still surprise a sci-fi nut with tech lol.


On a side note, I should be ordering my headset this weekend or early next week depending when I find one I like, but I shall be able to harass you guys soon
